For vast majority of people choosing a vacuum cleaner for their home price/quality relation is obviously the most important issue. Usually, we know what is the maximum we are ready to spend for the cleaner long time before actually going to the store to buy it. And, of course, each of us wants to get as much as possible for the certain amount of money. Shark NV22L upright bagless vacuum cleaner is an example of such ideal machine. Its’ price is rather affordable and for it one gets a powerful upright machine with a range of features usually expected from a more expensive cleaner.
Lightweight and easy to maneuver at only 15-pound, the navigator rides on smooth glide rubber wheels for effortless maneuvering around furniture. Powered by infinity technology the shark navigator traps dust and dirt so the navigator never loses suction and cleans the last room as well as the first.
A 30-feet power cord lets you clean multiple rooms from a single outlet. The navigator power nozzle makes quick work of pet hair on carpets. The exclusive pet hair power brush wipes hair clean off carpeted stairs and upholstery and the 24-inch crevice tool reaches hair in tight spaces.
The navigator is ideal for bare floor cleaning; the electronic brush roll shutoff stops the brush roll for superior bare floor cleanup. The super stretch hose gives you a 12-feet cleaning reach and the large bagless dust cup means there are no bags to replace. Accessories include pet hair power brush, crevice tool, dusting brush, cleaning wand and extra 24-inch crevice tool.

I was thinking the same after reading some 100 reviews of Shark on Amazon (simply could not manage all 500). My main concern was that the brand is not so well known though on the other hand it might have been a positive thing – being new to the market Shark would probably try to do their best in order to win the customers’ love. So I finally decided it to buy it as a budget-saving option hoping to get maximum for the price, as it was not the best moment for more costly purchases.
Ever since Shark’s arrival around 6 months ago it had not even once disappointed me. First of all, Shark NV22l was very easy to put together. It took only 5 minutes and you don’t need to be a technician to do it. I have always been the one who first reads the manual couple of time and then starts to put things together. But with this machine it was not needed.
Next plus is that it turned out to be rather small and slim for an upright. I was very surprised by it’s size and quantity of space it requires for storage. That is not very common for uprights, which are usually very massive. I even started to worry about its suction power and cleaning abilities. But when I tried it they were all gone soon. Manufacture gives a promise that Shark will not loose suction and it seems to be so, at least so far.
As far as I understand the main principal is that the big dirt and debris somehow do not go through the filter and therefore do not clog it thus do not lower the suction power. The cleaning ability of Shark is very high – probably, thanks to its’ 2 motors. It works so good both on hard floors and on carpets, with no problems going from one to another. The power brush has automatic shut off in case of clogging and prevent motor from overheating. Thanks to its small size NV22L is very maneuverable and with no problems sneaks into most difficult to reach places.
With most of uprights it is a problem to be accurate while vacuuming and not push or even damage the furniture while “driving” Shark is just a breeze. Though, I have to admit, it is not a lightweight model (around 15 lbs) it is still not too heavy and can be carried up and down the stairs.
A great feature is the long hose, wand and attachments providing 12 feet reach, which is far above my needs. This is very comfortable for the furniture, walls and drapes cleaning. The crevice tool is extra long too, while the pet brush is a very good hair and litter fighter. I like also the 30 feet cord, which is exactly as much as I need to cover everything.
It is great that being quite affordable Shark is equipped with HEPA filtration catching over 99% of dirt. This cleaner is supplied with an extra set of washable filters – they can be used when another set is being dried. The dustbin is easily emptying although this process should be done outside. I am not a fan of running out to do it during winter of course and for this prefer bagged cleaners. But when I was choosing the vacuum my husband was swearing to empty it for me and so far keeps his promise to support the no-extra –cost mission of bagless cleaners.
Well, the canister is quite big and he doesn’t suffer too often. The last but never the least positive thing about Shark NV22L is manufacturer’s 5year warranty which ensured me they are confident enough about their product to take such responsibility. Taking into consideration its’ price I honestly do not expect it to work more than 4-5 years but I will be happy if it does.
